The F-84 Thunderjet is a fighter bomber aircraft manufactured by Republic Aviation and designed by Alexander Kartveli. Its maiden flight was on the 28th of February 1946 and was introduced in November 1947. It was the first production fighter aircraft to use in-flight refueling and also the first fighter that was capable of carrying a nuclear bomb. The F-84’s primary user is the United States Air Force. The F-84 Thunderjet encountered a lot of problems when it was first introduced. Hence in 1948 it was declared as an aircraft that would not be able to execute its intended missions. The F-84D variant built in 1949 was regarded as fully operational. But it was only in 1951, with the production of the F-84G model, was the aircraft's design considered to be mature.
